I’ve been really enjoying MTHRFNKR since back when it was a modest one-woman tumblelog called Post-Dubstep. It introduced me to a lot of the sounds that I’m so very interested in now.
At the beginning of this year, it transformed into something bigger. They still share new music but they’re also publishing articles about the scene which have been interesting and will likely get better. I was excited! I still am!
But this blurb for a new video from Active Child, posted a couple days ago, is amazingly crude and unprofessional:
Check out Active Child’s new video for “Hanging On”. Even though Pat Grossi is one of those “indie wunderkinds” that sing like someone just kicked them in their balls, “Hanging On” is a beautiful song and I’m not just saying that. It’s a shame that I realized that after such a long time. Check this song out or you’ll have anal sex with the devil, get AIDS and die. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
I can deal with the sloppy editing and the dubious site layout because those things will definitely improve with time, but if this is the voice they’re choosing, I’m torn.
